Further to my communication of the 24th January 1942, regarding reimbursement of payments effected in Australia by the Commonwealth Government on account of evacuees from Hong Kong, I enclose herewith a copy of a cablegram which has been received from the Prime Minister's

Department, Canberra on the subject, and shall be glad if you will kindly inform me, as early as is convenient, when payment may be expected.
